  • What are your tooling production lead-times?

    Extrusion Blow Moulding (EBM):

    • Approx. 4-6 weeks required to produce a new tool.

    Single Stage Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM):

    • Approx. 14-16 weeks required to produce a complete new tool (Includes Preform tool and Blow Cavities)
    • Approx. 8-10 weeks required to produce blow cavities

    Stretch Blow Moulding (SBM):

    • Approx. 3-4 weeks required to produce a new tool.

  • Why is plastic a preferred material for packaging?

    Plastic Packaging Components are light in comparison to other packaging sources. Manufacturers today have the ability to lightweight components without compromising structural integrity of the packaging component. This allows for consumers to reduce the consumption of plastic for sustainability purposes, while reducing weight in transportation which saves fuel and substantially reduces greenhouse gases. Plastic has resistance to breakage in production and transportation. Plastic packaging components help to protect and preserve the goods contained within the component.

    Poly Blow Moulding uses FDA approved Food Grade, Food Safe, Pharmaceutical plastic resin that undergoes rigorous testing/approval by the FDA. Ability to recycle and re-use plastic packaging components, which reduces water pollution/air pollution from landfills, minimize the destruction of trees conserving forests, which in turn will help with the overall environment, mitigating the effects of global warming and reducing pollution.

  • What are the different types of plastics resins? Their structural properties and applications?

    Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) resin: Availability of FDA approved, Food Grade PCR resin in the market. PCR is a product of recycled plastic components. Different types of PCR include: HDPE PCR, LDPE PCR and PETE PCR. Ability to effectively utilize different percentage of PCR mixed with virgin resins or use 100% PCR to produce HDPE, LDPE, and PETE packaging components.

    Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETE) resin: FDA Approved, Food Grade PETE Resin is a clear, strong, lightweight, recycle and reusable resin that is commonly used in all of the major markets. Since PETE was first synthesized it has become one of the most reliable, trusted and widely used resins in the world. PETE components provide a glass like finish, with a favourable sustainability profile in comparison to glass. PETE has proved to be extremely energy efficient material in comparison to glass, aluminum and several other packaging materials/components.

    High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) resin: FDA approved, Food Grade HDPE Resin is an extremely rigid, strong, durable resin that contains structural properties which allow for it to be extremely resistant to various chemicals/products being filled. Considered to be extremely environmentally friendly, as HDPE requires very minimal natural resources to be produced, generating minimal waste products being 100% recycle and reusable.

    Can be used for Personal Care & Cosmetics, Health & Beauty, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical, Wine and Spirits, Pet Care, Automotive, Household, Lawn & Garden and Industrial Packaging.

    Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE): FDA approved, Food Grade Resin which provides good strength and chemical resistance. LDPE resin properties allow for it to be extremely squeezable and flexible while maintaining its strength and resistance. Rigid plastic bottles comprised of LDPE are 100% recycle and reusable.

    Can be used for Personal Care & Cosmetics, Health & Beauty, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical, Pet Care, Household, Lawn & Garden and Industrial Packaging.

    Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): Food Grade, FDA approved rigid PVC components are clear in nature. PVC resin is extremely strong and has a low reactivity to a wide variety of chemicals. An extremely high resistance to oils, harsh chemicals/solvents and a fantastic barrier to most gases. PVC resin over the years has phased out substantially and continues to be replaced by PETE bottles. PVC bottles may still be used in the automotive market, to prevent resistance against products/chemicals being filled. 100% recycle and reusable.

    Polypropylene (PP): Food Grade, FDA approved Polypropylene is mainly used within the Food & Beverage industry, for any products that are being hot filled. Polypropylene is able to withstand extremely hot temperatures due to its high melting point. During a hot fill process, PP bottles are able to maintain their structural integrity, avoiding any deformations. PP is 100% recycle and reusable.

    Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PET-G) resin: Food Grade, FDA approved PET-G resin is clear and durable in nature. Considered to be extremely strong and resistant to high tempertatures. PET-G and PETE have similar characteristics, but PET-G is not able to achieve the same clarity as a PETE component would. Co-extruded PET-G bottles are able to be produced with handles whereas the PETE bottles cannot. PET-G is 100% recycle and reusable.

    Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE): FDA approved, Food grade resin that is comprised of a mixture of HDPE and LDPE. This is desirable process whereby components will contain both the properties of HDPE and LDPE resin. Strong, durable and chemical resistant, with a little less rigidity than Virgin HDPE, resulting in a more squeezable and flexible component. MDPE is 100% recycle and reusable.
